The book nuvens is the first in the Azorica collection, a series that aims to address themes strongly related to the Azores in an unconventional way. We invited scientists to write, in a scientific but accessible manner, about clouds, and an artist to photograph the phenomenon. These two perspectives, scientific and artistic, seemingly so distant, complement each other to create a new way of understanding the subject. The book opens with a poetic reflection on this fascinating meteorological phenomenon, written by Eduardo Brito.

The scientists—Fernanda Carvalho, Diamantino Henriques, and Patricia Navarro—are part of the Portuguese Institute of the Sea and the Atmosphere. The photographer is Alberto Plácido.

O livro Nuvens é o primeiro número da coleção Azorica, uma coleção que pretende abordar temas fortemente relacionados com os Açores de uma maneira pouco convencional. Convidámos cientistas para escrever, de uma maneira científica, mas acessível,  sobre nuvens, e um artista para fotografar o fenómeno. Estes dois olhares, científico e artístico, aparentemente tão afastados, complementam-se para criar uma nova maneira de conhecer o tema. Abre o livro uma reflexão poética sobre este fascinante fenómeno meteorológico, escrita por Eduardo Brito.
