Vulcões is the second volume in the Azorica Collection, which proposes a new perspective on themes strongly related to the Azores through the intersection of artistic photography and scientific text. This collection also includes a poetic opening, a glossary, a brief bibliography, and biographical notes on the book's authors.

In the photographs, Daniel Blaufuks explores the world of volcanoes through a visual and aesthetic language. In the texts, with an accessible approach, the book invites the reader to discover what volcanoes are, how they form, volcanic products, eruptive styles, and volcanic structures. In the Crossroads section, these two perspectives meet, in the scientists' interpretation of the artistic images.

Na seção dos Cruzamentos estes dois olhares encontram-se, na leitura que os cientistas fazem das imagens artísticas.
